January 2011 Real Estate Stats

2011 has gotten off to a conventional start in Bryan College Station real estate. Home sales totaled 94 for the month of January, which is similar to what we’ve seen in years past. January is traditionally one of the slower times of the year, so we are yet to get an accurate prediction of the BCS real estate market for the year. What we are eagerly anticipating is the arrival of spring, which is when real estate activity begins to pick up. We still have a surplus of inventory, which is reflected in the total number of active listings compared to monthly sales. Higher priced homes continue to move slower than in years past, which has been the case since the economic downturn. Here’s a glimpse at the data for January:
